Check out our most frequently asked questions regarding our Cabo San Lucas fishing charters below. If you have further questions please contact us directly, we are glad to ensure you have all the information you need to plan your next fishing expedition.
What should I bring with me on my outing?
We suggest you bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) and while the afternoons may be warm enough for swim wear we do still get some chill out on the water in the mornings so you may wish to bring a light jacket or hoodie. Proper footwear is strongly suggested, flip flops are not safe, non-slip footwear is suggested.
Your favorite camera / phone / tablet / GoPro will be a great asset in helping you capture the memories made. Various sea creatures may be encountered at any time during your charter such as humpbacks, pilot, blue, and gray whales. Other wildlife you may encounter include dolphins, orcas, and sea lions.
If you think it is necessary you may bring a towel or motion-sickness medicines, we have no way of knowing what medicines you might need. Daily medicines you are regularly prescribed should be carried with you as needed, remember, you will be out on the water for up to 8 hours.
You may bring whatever you feel you may need and/or want with the obvious exception of illegal substances and/or goods related to illegal activity.
Is charter fishing a family friendly activity? Are children permitted?
Absolutely, your entire family is welcome to join on your Cabo San Lucas fishing charter. Safety gear is on board all vessels including life jackets of all sizes.
May I bring my own alcohol?
Yes, you may.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Paypal, ACH wire or cash (Canadian Dollars, American Dollars and Pesos with the daily exchange rate correcting given rate).
How much bait will I receive?
Half day charters will receive 5 bait fish. Full day charters will receive 10 bait fish. Bait is subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. As necessary we will use dead Ballyhoo which will count as bait.
Do I need a fishing license or permit to fish in Cabo San Lucas?
Yes, you must have a fishing license if you are over the age of 12.
Where do I purchase our fishing licenses?
The all inclusive package includes daily fishing licenses and will be ready for you at departure. If you have not purchased the all inclusive package your boat will stop at the floating market and you must purchase them at that time. The price varies with the exchange rate, but fishing licenses are about $20 per daily license. If you join us frequently weekly, monthly, and annual fishing licenses are available.
Where do I meet the crew?
Please have a cab take you to the Hotel Tesoro. Once there, walk out to the marina, almost in front of the lighthouse is dock M-O. You will be met by Hiram who will get you on your way.
Can I take our catch back to the U.S.?
Yes, you may. It will travel on the plane with you in a cooler and must be frozen. Duct tape is a must after customs inspects inside at the airport. Please check with your airline for extra fees and weight.
How much should I tip the crew?
We suggest 15-20% of the cost of your charter as standard. If you feel your crew went above and beyond or you are simply feeling generous of course you are welcome to tip more. Your tip should be handed directly to the captain who will then divide it among all crew members.
What happens to my deposit should the weather turn bad?
The Port Captain of Cabo San Lucas is the only one responsible for closing the port. We will do our best to reschedule your trip and if that is not possible we will refund you in full.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your trip up to 5 days prior to your scheduled charter with no fees. If less than 5 days notice are given you will forfeit your deposit.
During tournament dates deposits are non-refundable.
Is rescheduling my charter an available option?
Rescheduling is available if the newly desired date is available. While we will do our best to accommodate rescheduling you should be aware your chosen vessel may be subject to change which can result in change of rate.
What happens should my party become seasick?
All pharmacies in Cabo San Lucas offer motion sickness medicine. We suggest you come prepared as there are no refunds for seasickness.
